Agneta and Xavier have been married for decades, but gradually find themselves drifting apart. The children have flown the coop, leaving an uncomfortable void that neither of them wants to acknowledge. They are through with the quarrels and the battles. They let bygones be bygones. After all they have a pretty good life, with comfortable routines and a mutual tolerance. But there is also a sense of fragility in their relationship, which threatens to provoke a rift that will eventually inflict serious damage.
Disaster unexpectedly strikes as Agneta accidentally causes a fire that burns down their entire home and all their earthly possessions. In the wake of this calamity, the couple are forced to confront the issues that have been smouldering for some time, as well as adjusting to this new reality. How will Agneta cope with the guilt? What is a home and what is worth fighting for?
